Music inspired by the Eddas, composed by Mats Wendt
About 5 or 6 years ago I stumbled onto the music of Mats Wendt and his new creation, "The Cybersymphonic Orchestra". In addition to creating the technology and the genre, Mats created a 16 hour musical masterpiece based upon the stories in the Eddas.
Here is his bio from Wikipedia:
Mats Wendt Born in 1965, is a Scandinavian classical composer and artist. Most international known work is Eddan - the invincible sword of the elf-smith, a 16 hour long "cybersymphonic" work on Norse mythology according to Viktor Rydberg. 5 hours from Eddan was performed in Bayreuth 2003 during the annual Wagner festspiele, in Wahnfried, Wagners former home, present Richard Wagner museum.
Wendt is also the originator of "cybersymphony" that is a concept for transferring the symphony orchestra to computers and by this create a super instrument that is independent of development of hard and software.
Please check out his Music - it's amazing! Click this link or the picture below to go directly to Mats' site where you can listen to the music, and read the corresponding stories.
